Schlummer Management Consulting combines - thanks to our excellent professionals - valuable railway technology competencies in one team. We assign bespoke teams to your consulting mandate offering optimal support by manpower at its best. We have engineers of various disciplines such as electrical, mechanical or systems engineering and cybernetics working with us. Furthermore, there are industrial engineers, lawyers and physicists with us. The connecting link between our consultants: All of them gained vast experience in well-known rail sector companies such as Bombardier, ABB, Alstom, Knorr Bremse and Deutsche Bahn.

  • Manufacturer/OEM-side support of procurement and project phases, from industry dialogue to Final Design Review, including interface responsibility for sales, engineering, manufacturing, and maintenance
  • Focus on the conceptualization, submission, and defense of tenders, as well as the post-award establishment and management of project structures required for operationalization
  • Technical project management for procurement projects with individual volumes sometimes exceeding EUR 750 million, including leadership of the associated interdisciplinary project teams
  • Several years of experience as Overall Project Manager with direct personnel responsibility

  • Project Engineer for rolling stock procurement projects and project implementations:
    • S-Bahn rolling stock: Drafting of technical specifications and the requirements specification for new vehicles. Requirements management, design reviews, type tests, and manufacturing supervision ensured that the complex multi-system trains with high operational demands were executed in accordance with the contract and specific needs.
    • S-Bahn rolling stock: Development of the technical requirements specification and ensuring compliance with operational particularities for the procurement of new vehicles for a sub-network of an S-Bahn system. Incorporation of local specificities regarding the train protection system within the framework of the requirements.
    • Technology-neutral procurement of new rolling stock suitable for high-speed lines for regional transport, in close cooperation with the transport operator and the railway industry to evaluate suitable vehicle concepts.
  • Vehicle Type Manager for a long-distance rolling stock project: Overall technical system responsibility as well as the implementation of operational adaptations necessary to maintain safe vehicle operation
  • Rolling Stock Engineer for long-distance transport: Data-driven analysis of the door subsystem and evaluation of main fault areas using diagnostic data from the door control units and SAP maintenance data
